JW Docking isn’t new. It’s returning.
Founded in Blackpool in 1898, JW Docking was trusted with some of the most significant moments in British history — including the funeral of Police Superintendent Gerry Richardson in 1971, the largest police funeral ever held in the UK, witnessed by more than 100,000 people lining the streets of Blackpool.
For generations, the Docking name stood for precision, dignity, and scale — from horse-drawn funerals to one of the earliest Rolls-Royce motor hearses in the region. When corporate takeovers erased local names, JW Docking didn’t fail — it was absorbed, diluted, and shelved.
But history doesn’t disappear. It waits.
Revived under its original name, JW Docking & Son returns with the same founding principle that built its reputation over a century ago:
Do the job properly. No shortcuts. No spectacle. Just respect, order, and trust when it matters most.
This is not a re-brand.
This is a restoration.
